as i mentioned in my “Welcome” post – i’m really into a million things but cooking is definitely in my top three. nothing can hype you more than someone trying a dish you made and giving you that look like “dayummm, you made this?!”
below is one of my absolute favorites to make once it gets hot out. it’s so refreshing and gives me all the summer feels. try it for yourself with fish, chicken or by itself and let me know what you think. but, don’t blame me if you become addicted..
- red onion
- cherry tomatoes
- chili powder
- salt to taste
there’s nothing in this world i enjoy more than seeing #MrJoseph and A.C. in super daddy/son mode. it’s the little things, like watching #MrJoseph teach him how to catch a ball or A.C. screaming “daddddyyy” all thru the house because he’s looking for him, that warm my heart. i just love it. i love them. A.C. is truly blessed to have the father he has, and i couldn’t ask for better. this saturday, we all got together to honor a few of the dads in our family at a restaurant called Due South in the city (you have to try their hot crawfish dip), and that’s where i snapped the below pictures of my guys. happy father’s day to all the dads out there, especially my #MrJoseph aka A.C.’s dadddyyyy.
one of the things i love about my good friend ji (pronounced G), is her attitude towards her looks. she reminds me of those girls you see on fashion week street style slideshows – their outfits are always put together, never basic and only they could make it look fierce and effortless.
our friend tiff (haaay girl) and i joke with ji all the time, that if we’re showing up somewhere in sweats – ji’s still going to show up in her fashion week’s best. so when we made plans to go to happy hour last week, i knew i had to feature her. and of course, she didn’t disappoint.

i wanted to kick off this series, that i’ll be calling “A.C.’s Corner”, with a little intro:
for those of you not in the know, i am the mama bear to the cutest 1 1/2 year old cub, with the personality of a 15 year old (my parents would like to say he got his ‘tude from me, but i’d beg to differ). #MrJoseph and i, are very much into #looks and that of course extends to our little one – so in A.C.’s Corner, we’ll be exploring all things toddler boy fashion. check out below for A.C.’s past sunday movie date look and be sure to check back in with him for all that’s trending in toddler boy fashion.
i’ve told #MrJoseph probably a hundred times this spring (sorry, boo) – this summer, i’m a mami. and yes, i know what you’re thinking – i am actually a mother but that’s not the “mami moment” i’m referring to in this post. so you’re asking – alysia, what is a MAMI? well my good people, #issalook. deadass.
the ” mami” look, in my opinion, entails the following:
- gold jewelry (and YES, it has to be gold)
- off the shoulder dresses/shirts/jumpsuits
- statement sleeves
- vibrant hues
for more details, check out this “mami moment” i had earlier this month..annnnnd will probably be having, all summer #judgeyamama
my fiancé #MrJoseph (you guys will get to know him in due time) recently told me that i’m always presenting ideas to him, but i never truly buckle down and follow thru with one..
hence, the beginning of Alysia’s Atelier. because when you’re a creative, who loves a million things and dabbles in everything – why not establish a “workshop” for you to do just that? this is not a lifestyle blog. i am not a lifestyle blogger. this is just my space to share with you all, what i’m currently into – whether it’s food, skin products or toddler fashion. i’m all over the place, so bare with me and walk with me…welcome!
